Anyone here able to source cf tubing to sleeve a Crosman 7/16" barrel?

Steve,

This is using a retractable curtain rod from a dollar store, learned this from a friend and this is one example, rod fits almost perfectly and you can shim it with paper or cardboard strip or electric tape or masking tape if you want to make it tighter, this one we don't have to do any, it gets snug up using the muzzle brake when you tighten it, just make sure you deburr the end so it won't leave a scratch on the breech and you can also use the plastic sleeves it comes with it. i used a pipe cutter to cut this to make iook clean, wrap it with a masking tape and mark, then cut.

12mm ID bonded to the barrel with epoxy will likely be the most cost effective.

Rockwest Composites has several 0.460” ID tubes to choose from but you’ll pay a princely sum. That has been my experience with any size which deviates from a metric measurement.

Wear a good respirator if sanding or grinding carbon fiber. It’s bad stuff to get into your respiratory system.

I have a piece of 12mm - it would work, with some shims, if this were a floating barrel/riser breech set up, but that's not the case - it's for a 2250 bottle build using a Stace breech of the non-riser variety - I need something with no slop, that fits like the barrel sleeve from an old SSP 250, but longer and made from thin wall, stiff, light in weight cf tubing - if I do get lucky enough to source some, will also have to drill out one barrel band -

I don't at present have a way of measuring the id of my materials that do fit, and thought someone might have had this same idea/problem/situation -

And I really do appreciate any and all suggestions -

I wanted to shroud and silence the barrel on my 2300. I used 1" od tube because thats what I have in the garage. Tube has .90 id. Made up end caps, baffles and such. Just an idea departing from slip fit CF tubing.

On this on I have to remove the shroud/moderator to replace the co2 cartridge. Takes 10 seconds to remove and replace. Held on by 1 set screw.

Yeah I was working from the assumption you would be bonding them together. That is best for rigidity.

If you need them to remain separable, your best bet is probably to sand the ID of a 7/16” tube as RJ stated. The two Crosman barrels I just checked were within 2 thousandths of 0.437”. It wouldn’t take much to establish a slip fit if the tubing ID is spot on.
