Anyone have trouble ranging targets in fog?

Hi, All,
I use a Bushnell range finder which won't function in foggy conditions. It will read 4 or 6 yards no matter what it's aimed at. Once the sun starts to break through it will range. Anyone else experience this or have any ideas on how to fix it? I live in parched California so there's probably more moisture in the air than the vegetation or animal I'm trying to range.

Fix it? Fog is an issue for most rangefinders though the higher quality i.e. more $ units tend to deal with it better.

It's a classic issue of you get what you pay for.

Best fix I know of is to learn to range without it.

Low power laser, like ones used in most range finders, can't cut through fog, so they read a close range.

Your best bet is to use a mil-dot scope and learn to range by measuring your mil-dots.
