Anyone have experience with the Athlon Talos 3-12×40?

Looking for a scope for my AGT Vixen Shortie (under 5 pounds). Just noticed the Athlon Talos 3-12×40 Mil, SFP. 16 oz, 12" long, side focus. Currently $137 on Amazon. I like the size and weight, but I also know that we generally get what we pay for. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance for your help.

@gunshipguy, I've owned the Mil dot version for about 4 years now. Purchased for use on my then new Compatto, an excellent scope. I made kills on pigeons out to 104 yards with it. Also many, many rats atop my Compatto and subsequently my pp700sa. It currently resides atop my Crosman 1701p. I paid close to $250 for mine. I would consider it a good buy at the current price, I've been spoiled by illuminated reticles or I would pick up another of these.

Thanks! I hear ya on the IR. I really like illumination when I'm shooting into the shade, etc. I'm trying to keep the weight down on this little rifle, however, so I need to cut where I can. Really appreciate your owner feedback. Athlon makes some great scopes.

The Athlon Talos is a good scope at a very fair price. I talked my brother into getting one, and I got the TVV 3-12 SFP. The mil-dot reticle is not near as thin as the Tac Vector Veyron 3-12, which makes it very easy to see. It is optically clearer than the Tac Vector. I also have the fixed 10x Tac Vector Marksman and I love the reticle in that scope. It's not the best optically and the turrets are a little mushy, but it's my favorite of these budget scopes, as I don't click and don't need an illuminated reticle. These three scopes are great deals and either one might be the best for you depending on what you want out of it.
