HW/Weihrauch Anyone have a marksman model 60?

I don't have the gun...but I do have ancient Marksman catalogs, lol.

Yeah only the rear sight and model name is different between the two, but it seems to be a flawed design, as mine has a scope stop screwed on both in front of and behind the sight, indicating it has a real problem with sliding down the rail during use. Which sucks for me, because my rifle is in perfect condition, short of 2 marks on top of the rail from some a hole screwing the stop pins in.🤬

I'll post some pictures of it later, but yes it's just a regular dovetail clamp, but with only one clamping screw. I already have another old 77 with the correct beeman peep on it, I actually bought this rifle solely because it has that goofy notch sight on it....they are basically a unicorn sight to find still on the rifle😂 i think I'll just remove the stop pins from the scope stops they put on, im sure even just the extra clamping force was enough to hold the sight, they just went a little overboard 😂

The unique Marksman BSF / HW hybrids are fascinating, and IMHO it's high time they were "discovered" by collectors! :p The models 56 and 58 may be the most influential of the bunch; the current HW 98 / R11 combines their best features.

More stuff from the old catalogs...

Really nice catalogs wish I could find a few for sale. I collect Marksman airguns, as a kid I had a few the air pistols. Recently, I bought a Markman model 40 rifle its a shooter.
Cool...the model 40 is a version of the original HW 50 design (which was much diff from today's rifle of that name). Note in the catalog pic it has a non-adjustable "Perfekt" trigger, but the next year it, and all the model 55 and 70 variants, acquired the famous "Rekord."

I collect the old HW 50 and its "relatives' (HW 55, Beeman R8, Marksman 40, etc.), and would love to have a model 40 myself!

Those are, like...GORGEOUS! Thanks for the pics (and please tell us more about that lovely setback trigger on the 58? :D ).

Another interesting resource on the Marksman model 70 guns is the series of blog posts that Tom Gaylord did. They have some unusual internal details that are quite different from other Weihrauchs - look especially at parts 5 and 6.
