I recently bought a used FX Impact and immediately had to replace the 9x1.5 oring in the regulator housing. I figured that as long as I was replacing that I might as well give it a full reseal. Upon disassembly, I found two of the bolts that hold the main rail to the various parts were stripped. Also the bolt that clamps the reg tube was loose and not even clamping anything. Oh the joys of buying used and having alot of DIY videos out there.
Anyway, I was wondering what the collective experience out there would suggest for the stripped holes in the aluminum? I saw an ad for the Form-a-thread on Midway.com and wonder if anyone has any experience with it. I'm not set up to drill it out and use a helicoil, plus who knows if they make it for the thread type of the screws.
As a side note, when the manual says to not adjust the power wheel whilst the gun is cocked or it might damage something, you should see the trench that is gouged between the numbers on the cam underneath. Luckily the lettered side is undamaged so I can adjust power on that side. Thanks in advance for any advice or thoughts.
