Anyone ever machine a hand pump?

I have a Hill MK3 & it’s fine. Most of the time I just have to clean, lube, maybe change one or two rings.

I read in different ads it goes to 3300, others say 4500. Has anyone improved upon or built one themselves that is capable of true 4500, even 5K fills? Not saying I want to pump to 5K but is there a pump that could do it & last?

I’m about to buy a Yong Heng or Tuxting & save for an Alkin Marine1E which will take me 8 months most likely.

I have had it up to 4500psi many times.

man, you mush be eating a lot of spinach ....

I motorized my Hill MK3. It pumps to 4500 PSI using a 1 HP motor connected to a 50:1 gearbox. I fill a small Benjamin 90 cubic inch tank from 3000 to 4500 in three 2 minute pumping sessions resting 5 to 10 minutes between sessions. I don't know if I can go longer than 2 minutes but I'm not in a hurry and don't want to replace the o-rings more than necessary. Maybe have about 1 to 2 hours of total run time, seals are still holding.

I disassembled & cleaned, lubed & it breathed again. Pumped to 3750 but I don’t see going to 4500 300 bar full fill. How’s anyone ever going to fill a 5K Huben?

You would have to weigh over 300 lbs to get to 5000 psi, or use a motor or lever arm. At 180 I could barely do 3000 psi, had to really lean into it with momentum. With the motor I don't even break a sweat.
