Anyone a fan of the .510?

I have a hammer and I'm sick of the sky high prices and limited selection in this caliber. I'm going to cast my own, and offer a variety pack (250gr. - 450gr.) to others when I start in a month or two. No more shooting inaccurate round ball either.
You can mix and match 75 count pure lead slugs shipped for $30 + pirate ship USPS small rate box (probably in the $9 range). They will all be sized to .510 ran through a sizing press. They will ship unlubed so you can apply your own recipe. I know for a fact that my hammer shuttle won't accept my 401gr. NOE mold as cast slugs since they come out .511 - .512 (+/- .002 is standard). Therefore pressing all of these to .510 is the only solution.

More calibers will follow since I have a lot of big bores. .358 and .457 will be next.

This is $.40 per round (cheaper than anywhere else), and you have a choice of four different designs/weights to choose from!

Here is what I've been envisioning for a long time. Great sampler for the Texan, Hammer, or Piledriver. Not lubed and sized yet, but they will be in the next couple of days. Three shot groups of five should all you need to determine if a slug groups or not. No need to buy $200+ worth of slugs to find out which one works in your gun:

Thank you for the feedback. You are correct on pushing them through a sizer easily. The three slugs on the left in the above picture you can use a hand sizer no problem. As for the two on the right, you need to have a press attached to a bench to push them through. No way you can do it by hand:

Do you lube the slugs? I lubed then with beeswax furniture polish before and after sizing. No buildup.

I have the Umarex Hammer. Sure would be curious which of them all shoots best? This is fascinating to know that there are some options!

I see the 450gr Warheads on Amazon ... and the Silo looking slugs from 250gr to 320gr ... just not sure if they would shoot ok after sizing? Help ...please. At $2 a slug I have no option but to cast. Any input would be soooo helpful. *now begging

Much appreciated! Maranatha -
I've found the size of your mold is crucial to accuracy. My .510 Texan only likes molds at .512 or .513 and sized to .510....I bought a .510 diameter mold...too loose...Lee .515 450 grain sized to .510 works...... But tight not best accuracy... All my molds in .512 to .513 seems ideal....I like powder coating my slugs and using a.touch of silicone oil for lube...Lube and clean barrels important on big bores...

Anybody else find that one of the two mags for their Hammer is way tighter than the other?
Just checked both of mine and they are all the same ...no issues on my end. I have however heard of this happening with other Hammer owners. The magazines are hard to find as well. If you're in the USA then you'll find them ...if you're up here in Canada ...good luck with that.
