Anybody Painted the Stock on Veteran / Mutant?

I like how it turned out and it Feels much better.

Well I finally did it. I started the stain process with sanding with some 220, then 320, and finished with 400.

As you can see I didn’t go very deep just enough off to show the lines and prepare the surface to take a stain. I picked up some Minwax #231 Gunstock color and started to apply. In between the first and second coat I wet sanded with 400, then just some towels and tack paper in between the rest.

Next comes the wipe on poly but I wanted to shoot so badly that I let it dry and am taking a break! I’ll post more pics soon!
