My area is cruddy, I'm in Lancaster and there is zip, I'm going out just to test, wish I had a real hunting area :- ( I'm hopping a starling lands in the trees :- )

Agree with Crosman999. Do you not see the jack rabbits in the dessert. I'm in Palmdale/Lancaster all the time and see/hunt jackrabbits. There are a TON of "In the MIDDLE of know where spots there". There are YOTES there also. I see them in Palmdale

There's a little bit here and there, but not like in the high desert, I think.
Where I ussualy go (pictured area), I've spotted a cayote a few times very early in the morning, and very few squirrels.
Ohh, last weekend two rabbits scared the living crap out of me when they took off as I was walking in some bushes.
Other than that,very boring, but at least is very close to my house, maybe 3 miles to get into the canyon.
Maybe is because there is not much water for the wild life ?

Yep, you got to be out in the boonies. I shoot just outside of Lancaster and where I go I have a few "things' roaming around, but if I was serious I would need to "Go West" another 5-10 miles, more in the higher hills of the high desert. I may venture out more in the spring.

To find places to shoot you have to be willing to search away from home, my group have manage to get 17 permissions. all of them hours away, all farms. You have to find a place then knock on doors.

I was on my way home mon and caught two yotes watching some sheep grazing on grass !!! I had my fx whisper with me but shot was to far for my .22 if i only had brought the carnivore !!!!
