Any whispers of a forward cocking lever bullpup from Taipan?

If taipan reads these threads I doubt they’ll ever feel the need to change their cocking lever. With a cult like following that accepts the rear lever there is no reason to change. Tbh I like that they keep the rear lever in a world of foward cocking levers and semi autos with no lever. Makes the cocking mechanism more robust keeping in line with the overall robustness and simplicity of the platform.

Agree 100%

Again I have the same guns in rifle and Pup form, so i use my rifles with the lever at the trigger then I move to my Pup with the rear lever and to be honest it does not bother me none, don't even realize it's there,.......the need to have a forward lever is overblown.

Acknowledging, of course, that others may shoot differently than you do, and feel differently about lever placement. And will speak with their own personal cash.

To each their own, but blanket over-simplification statements will never be accurate.

This is absolutely hilarious. I see what you did there, but I'm not sure you do. lol

Maligator

I got one of them dogs to,,,,,

OH, the mutant, Yes I remember , I got kicked off a site because I was talking good about the Mutant , Said I was a dealer and the gun was trash and made in a garage ,, I was IRIDE back then...

My dog just turned one, I have not done a lot with him due to my cancer, But I am on the come back now...

I have trained Police dogs, guard dogs, protection dogs,,, But this dog is like he is on crack, steroids', and taking super brain pills,,, He is a hand full....

Right on JM. Relax and focus. The slower I go the tighter my groups. If I could, I'd rather shoot one 5-shot TIGHT group a night than five mediocre 5-shot groups. I am an expert at shooting mediocre groups. I only shoot stellar groups when I slow down. Apparently, my Taipans like lethargy too. When you slow down it doesn't matter that the cocking lever is located on your right butt cheek...

Taipan moved their production to The Czech Republic:

“For easier conditions, production has moved to the Czech Republic. Here, we are carrying out 100% of rifles assembly, strict quality control and accuracy.”

I have always thought there was a hint of the Taipan air rifle in the Zbroia line; which has a forward cocking lever due to the design of the stock. Anyone know if the parts for the two different rifles are made in the same factory?

I used to think the rear cocking lever was a deal breaker. Now, I honestly believe I could sell my Daystate Red Wolf, Brocock, etc. rifles and not look back. The Taipan is that good, no matter where the cocking lever is positioned.

It is not the cocking lever which make the gun. But I do own a taipan, and would probably prefer a forward cocking lever if I could choose, as I find it a litle easier to use. This questing or whish sometimes pop up in the forums, and the hardcore owners chime in to say it is not nescesarry. An interresting question would be if the taipan was deliverd with forward cocking, owners would wish it was rearcocking? We would not know, until that happended, but I do not think I would have wanted it on the other guns I own. I can not remember on any other guns, I have read on the forum, owners wish it was rearward cocking intstead:)

Perfectly stated and I did just that.

Sold my other air rifles... all of them 😎

I think it depends on your intentions. 99% of my shots are at iguanas and I typically only need 1 shot with the taipan therefor it's a non issue for me. I like the fact that it's built like a tank, accurate, great trigger and holds air for ever. If I was doing extreme bench rest shooting I doubt the taipan with a rear cooking lever would be my first choice.
