Any shot slugs from a pellet liner?

Idk why fx won't let us choose pellet or slug liner when we order our gun. Mine came with a pellet liner (I think) idk since it doesn't say pellet or slug liner. But I heard all fx guns comes with pellet liner. Anyhow I don't want to spend money on a slug liner and have a pellet liner that will just sit and collect dust. So can I buy some slug and just shoot from whatever liner my gun came with. Gun is gen 3 fx impact x 25 cal.

Yes, your gun came with a pellet liner. You can try shooting slugs with the pellet liner but it probably won't shoot slugs very well. The twist rates, choke and other "secret" design characteristics of the pellet liner aren't made for slugs. On the other hand, my 600mm .25 cal. slug liner shot the 33.95 JSB's exceptionally well which makes sense based on the twist rate. Most air gunners shoot pellets, which is what the gun was designed for originally, that's why they ship with pellet liners. Slug liners are still being developed and manufactured. FX still hasn't fulfilled all the pre-orders so they can't offer them with the gun yet, maybe in the future. The FX owners are masters of marketing and this is the perfect example. When you make the most innovative and desired air guns in the world, you can set the rules!

Before buying slug liners for my various calibers, I gave it the old college try with various slugs at various weights through my smooth twist X pellet liners. While accuracy results with some slugs were close enough for government work, they were not up to my standards for precision shooting and humane hunting.

If you are genuinely interested in shooting slugs, I would suggest you bite the bullet and purchase a slug liner for $110. Check out one of the forum sponsors at Palm Beach Airguns. I have no connection to them and recommend them because of the excellent service I have personally received from them. One of the best airgun operations on the web in terms of speed of processing, shipping, and customer service.

I think it pays to wait. Luckily the slug liners were never in stock when I wanted to buy. I think they are much better now as they are still being refined. According to Matt Dubber’s video they have the latest version shooting very well.

If I buy a slug liner I think I’ll wait until the older onesie have flushed through the system and will get the latest version. Sometimes it pays to wait when dealing with brand new technology.

I didn’t have much success with my MKII .30, shooting 44 gr at 913, 47 nsa slugs 870 or so, some would go through the same hole, the others would be wildly off target. Not sure if I need more oomph or what. Hope .30 slug liners come out soon, and I need more power!

Try the 50's Matt. I have the same results with my Matador shooting those 47's, the 50's are very consistent!
