Not much big bore around here (I'm in CT) but there is FT club if you interested to meet new people.

The only ranges I know of on long island , ny are brookhaven and calverton. they generally are open wens-sun. but you would need to look that up. you will find some air gunners there. both are located in eastern suffolk county.
