My CS4 has just over 90hrs filling a 6.8 liter tank and many, many hours direct filling guns, including a bigbore, at the range.
My maintenance routine has been nothing but a couple turns of the grease pot. Only operational mod I've done is turn the radiator and that was recently. I just run it, put my hand on it occasionally checking if it feels hot and don't worry about it. Can't remember my last dead head tested so just did one. A whole 2 seconds longer than when arrived. Nothing, could be me clicking stopwatch or slightly different pressure setting.
They come with a rebuild kit and the only special tool needed for the job, I bought a 2nd kit for $30 just because.
Haven't seen anyone post on here yet about rebuilding because they've worn their cylinder out. How many hours till one actually needs rebuilt?
They wouldn't include a kit if rebuilding was really difficult, factory workers assembly these not technicians. I've got the rebuild video downloaded and will do it whenever that time arrives.
Personally I'll buy a whole new compressor before ever spending half that to put a new cylinder in an old compressor. Then I could part out the old one if needed. Maybe if I wore out a second I'd by just the cylinder so long as I hadn't totally parted out the other.
What a mountain of lead that would take to wear 2 of these completely out.
