and what do you think of it?
I just picked one up to try out the semi auto action. My buddies have Hubens and Monsoons and love them for hunting so I thought I would like to try a semi auto.
So far its been an uphill battle to get it shooting good but I am getting there. It had a long and heavy trigger that grabbed and was very annoying, velocity was erratic and accuracy not so good. Now this is a used rifle and I kinda knew what I was getting so I expected I would be working on it. I shot it a few times before tearing it down to find out what was going on with it. The trigger issue was the sear had a slight notch that was mushrooming out where it connects to the hammer. I polished that out and all contact points and made the trigger much, much better. This gun has a Huma reg installed and I found that he left the oring on the tube and it wasn't breathing properly. I also found a small long screw floating inside the chamber (I think it was used to remove the reg, not sure) and the head was blocking the valve intake hole and cutting off airflow. Luckily no damage was done and it is working fine now with consistant fps readings. I did a crown polish with my brass crown tool and also polished a little around the transfer port inside the barrel as it was nicking the pellets just a touch.
It is finally shooting the JSB 18 gr about 850 fps with the current reg setting and spring set up that is in it. Th sping looks like it may have been cut down a coil or so and reg is set around 120 bar. Also , it does have the JSAR accuracy kit in it and Haji's baffles.
Overall I like the gun and want to get it shooting as good as can be. The semi auto is fun to shoot and I have taken pest birds out to 50 yards or so.
