Any issues with higher power springs?

I'm curious if people see mechanical issues related to stronger springs, such as cracks in the cylinder, increased wear on the trigger mechanism, or damaged seals or guides. 

I irecently nstalled spring kits in my HW30 and HW95. I like the twang reduction and modest power increase.

I would say possibly, and probably that it depends on the gun in question. I personally like higher power so I would trade a little extra wear for extra performance but many others will certainly prefer "smoother" to "more powerful". All relative and probably few absolutes.

It depends on how much stronger the spring is. I tried some stupid strong springs in my D56 and I had a very difficult time cocking the rifle till I got down to a wire diameter of .135. Remember, you can't really increase the power of a springer all that much more than it is engineered to be by the manufacturer. Its easier to get a very powerful airgun and then tune it down.

This. I had a very difficult time learning to shoot my asp at 21FPE at the muzzle. I figured being a gas ram would maje it easier, but boy was I wrong. The learning curve was steep I suspect as a result of the power. Didn't have the same issues with my other, less powerful, guns...

I don't mean damage to replaceable parts like the spring or seal. I'm more concerned by things like bending the linkage, or the piston latch wears faster. Or even cracks in the cylinder itself.

What got me thinking about this was the Weihrauch instructions which say to not dry fire a springer.

Not dry firing a springer is really about not destroying the piston seal.
