Yeah the one inside the kit I ordered has the long darkgrey spring in it. I have an early GK1 V1. My original spring looks different than the two in your picture. It's about the same length as the bottom one, but with less windings, thicker wire, and bronze colored instead of darkgrey.
So the long spring doesn't work well for you? What happens exactly when you install it? Air dump? Underpowered shots? Or no shots at all?
The first v3+ upgrade kit i got had a striker with a small hole and no plug. Longer spring of coarse. This combo was not consistent.
Weird spikes in velocity. Sticking valve slowly draining all the air, etc. when i checked the spring is was deformed slightly.
I had ordered a v3+ kit from Airgun technical after learning Huben was using the brass valve again. I did not expect the original striker with the black plug.
I installed this kit as is and noticed a puff of smoke and burning smell. Smelled like when you crack loose a loc tited bolt. After a couple shots i saw the smoke was coming from the rear cover. Then noticed my scope pic rail which screws to that cover loosened up. When i took it apart the spring was deformed, and the rear cover had a visible bulge. The spring and/or spring insert was ramming up against the cover. I was only running it at 20-25 fpe.
I determined the cavity in the striker where the spring seats measured.250
I then measured the striker on the first v3+ kit and it was .420.
Thought maybe Huben was using the original striker without considering the longer spring.
My 3 GK1’s have the same parts including the middle spring in the picture (K1) and I haven’t had a issue since.
