More pictures are better. I am hesitant to reply anything because I have the original version and I don’t know what is different about v3 and v3+. I do know somewhere in the changes that they went from using a star washer on the closing valve to machining the stem vent into the valve (iirc). Others may be hesitant as well, not knowing these version changes.
It does seem you are battling a couple of issues. The spring not resetting the opening valve without adding washers…my question there would be is the buffer in good shape and why would the new valve come with shorter spring? Pictures comparing old to new may help.
Another concerning area is the power adjuster, oring, stem and how freely can it move? Condition? Lubed?
Anyway, I hope you get it sorted, these kinds of issues sure can be frustrating.
Dave
The stem was lubed when i had it apart previously. I added washers to add lenth to the spring because the seat is deeper in the v3+ striker. The v3+ spring is 5-6mm longer so the washers made up for that using a shorter spring.
So i went and removed the washer under the valve. I did read through this thread and saw the different variations of the valve. The one i had before losing it was the same length, only difference was it was tapered on the bottom.
Going to fill it to 5k and test it tonigt.
I did fill it to 4500 .. 3 shots to find my target 800 ish. There did seem to be a lot more adjustment on the valve without the washer although i m not sure where its at current.
Prior i was at 1 3/4 ccw.
Shot 4-10 were all within - few fps 807-810
Then it went up about 20 fps and stayed there for 4-5 shots, then another 20 fps for another 4-5 shots. Then it came down back to 800 ish. Ending at around 13 mpa.
All in sll just shy of 50 fps ES. .. so better but not perfect.
Interestingly when the shots were coming down the shots were a lot more “airy” or louder .
Same happened previously but fps was + 80 and rising before dumping.
I get 2 mags with my 25 cal set to 40 fpe.
No reason i cant get the same with the 22 set to 30 fpe or more, and be somewhat consistent.
Thanks for your comment, i seem to run into issues nobody else has.
My GX pump sheared the bolt that connects the rod with the piston. Talking to a person who repairs them and also GX .. neither have heard of it happening haha just my luck.
