I realize that now. I had thought there might be a parent company relationship between square and squarespace when Brian initially made the post, so I hastily began researching. I presumed I wasn't the only one who would make such a mistake, so thought it worth announcing my ignorance, hopefully for other's benefit. :)

A faceless corporation decided your site was either not profitable enough or soon wouldn't be, so they cut you out. That is textbook capitolism. Fairness is as far removed as greed is intertwined. I can't support what they did nor why they did it, but I have to support their right to do it. Saying things like they shouldn't force their views on others and small businesses shouldn' have to pay for payment processing services is a very liberal stance. On the flipside, exploitation of mass ignorance or fear is a very capitolist thing to do. Concentration of money and power corrupts any system, ideology or religion, and unfortunately that is where our country is right now, dangerously swinging from one political extreme to the other and furthering an us versus them mentality.

They did not have the right to do it; they were in breach of contract since I had written permission to be on the platform stating that airguns were not a violation of their TOS and I had paid for one year up front, so I had honored my agreement. Weebly gambled that I did not have the money to take them to court, which is correct. But as far as right and wrong well that is on my side

If the TOS clearly state that airguns are not in violation and that services would be provided for the full term of the payment without clause, regardless of ownership of the company, then you should definitely pursue getting your money back, and possibly financial damages incured by their breach. However, most companies will include fine print that absolves them of their contractual obligations as they see fit. If you are in the right and have the documents to prove it, don't let 'em run over you.

I'm all about where I spend my money. In this case, how would I actually do this? I may not have much money, but it is mine and I will spend with whom I want. Even when I have had to pay more.

I have been thinking about getting a new EDgun? Now I know I'm getting one! 

Brian when will your new store be up and running? I would like to put my money where my mouth is and then send this company a copy of the transaction.

I have read some crazy conspiracy stuff about banks/credit card processors going all anti-gun and denying anything that is related to a "gun". I used to use square and had stopped because of this nonsense. If you want to see something really scary look at whats going on with Sweden and the push to go cash free over there with other countries considering the same. And then there is the whole social credit score thing about to go live in China. Crazy times.

Sorry to hear that you're going through this, but, it will get better..

I've been in the electronic cigarette / e-liquid industry for about 5 years, and as mentioned above, we've dealt with the same thing..
*Big Pharma and Big Tobacco started losing 'customers and money' to our industry, so, they're doing everything they can to shut us down.. 
The problem really IS with politics. Certain groups that don't like what we're doing have a lot of pull using their lobbyists,
and they'll either strong arm, or, they'll buy out certain things, and then impost their own restrictions, etc..

Paypal has done it for years - Krale in the Netherlands had PP screw them over...
[And Sqaure too]
We've had Paypal screw Us over, we've had countless credit card processing companies drop us OR try to force a high % fee/rate..
On top of that, what they do is deem certain things a certain way so they can also add 'sin tax', etc.. It's unreal..

We've sold CBD for years - Since before people knew what it was and before it became popular.. 
As soon as everyone started catching onto the benefits, *boom* another credit card processor would drop us.. 
Same BS, and, the same with website hosting companies.. 

Guns, Tobacco, pic - They're all being lumped into a category of 'high risk' or 'sin', so, they can continue to do this sort of thing.. 
High[er] regulated / Higher rates / Higher taxes . . .
Certain sites / processors still run under non-discriminatory trade and business practices, but, they're few and far between..

Square - Ha.. Yup, go figure.. We used to use the little plug in Square scanner for if we went to events, expos, etc..
Not anymore..

The only way to truly reduce the business continuity risk from the 2nd Ammendment killing, Silicon Valley types is to minimize your reliance on as many third party services as you can. Unfortunately, that trades one evil for another (in the form of PCI-DSS).

Been there, some that with numerous clients in slightly similar circumstances. I hope you find a solid path forward nonetheless!

Build a website on GODADDY. They are airsport friendly. I built my Website/Store over the 4th of July weekend, with NO previous experience. It is aggravating the first day. The second day it gets less aggravating but by the 3rd day... it is surprisingly easy to do.

Be very careful in dealing with Godaddy. I have seen them yank hundreds, if not thousands of domain names in the past for websites that they do not "like". They also make it difficult to migrate a domain to a new registrar, my advice to anyone with a domain with them is to move it to a neutral registrar (Moniker/Snapnames, Namecheap, anywhere but them)!

Think about this. What if all credit card processing companies decided that you could not purchases firearmes/airguns/ammo/pellets. Not saying that this is going to happen but... Anyway, I read to much conspiracy theory garbage. One of them I recall reading was about the whole ban on guns thing. That was one crazy theory. It starts to get scary when you see it start to actually happen. Sure this would not be some overnight thing but in that crazy theory it could make purchasing items for our hobby very difficult. Good thing there is cash for now.

Banks wouldn't be able to do it (in the USA), they're too closely tied with the government (and thus the Constitution).

You should run this by a constitutional law attorney. Only the federal government has the right to regulate inter-state commerce. You can rest assured that you aren't the only business Square has done this to. A creative attorney could possibly turn this into a class action. It would cost Square a ton of money to defend. At a minimum, it might induce the Square Board of Directors to fire the individual or group within the company that exposed them to the lawsuit.

I've been using PayPal since 2002.
A few years ago, I signed up for Amazon, then Prime.. 
I found out real fast that I couldn't use PayPal to pay for Amazon purchases..
Why? Most likely conflict of interest, but, IMO who cares.. That's not up to Them.. It's My money.. 
PayPal was also dictating what they'd let people buy.. I work in the electronic cigarette industry.. 
Paypal stopped letting people use its service to pay for e-liquid.. 
Paypal doesn't let people make certain 'gun' related purchases.. *Hit / Miss w/ different vendors..

I pay for my Amazon orders using PayPal Now.. I just had to get a bit creative and find a loophole..
PayPal Business-Debit MasterCard. Yup, that's the trick - using MC 'bypasses' PP's death-grip..

Pretty lame..

This Is Happening In the USofA [Government / Constitution be damned in their minds]

Don't worry keep triggering them and stick to your logos and I swear to you we will take America back from the corporate globalist pukefest that is subverting our rights one slow motion head shot at at time. My 6 year old daughter Marilyn and I watch your videos together and she is excited yo learn how to hunt now. I just took her shooting with her savage rascal and she was patient and listened like I have never seen and started hitting targets after the 2nd shot. You helped me put that spark in her and she will teach her kids etc... Even if they never let you on the whole of the internet ever again stories would be told around the campfire in excited whispers by children for decades about the epic squirrel invasion of 2019 and the man and his leshey who stopped it.
