Got skunk number three last night. Another heart shot and no spray, that’s three in a row using that shot. This time I changed the Crown from .25 to .30 cal. Shot was 17 yards and he still got about 25 feet from the bait station. I was thinking that the .30 would anchor the skunk right there but not so. I ordered poly mags and will pull the tips out for a wicked hollow point that will fit the magazine

Be mindful of causing to much trauma or it might get to excited and spray. Better off just going to the long sleep nice and easy.

Agreed ! I shot one earlier this year while rat shooting at one of my barn permissions. The renter had told me about it a few days before & didn't want the "stinker" around. I had my Kral NP03 .22 tuned to around 17ftlb.s w/ the Hades pellets. I took the shot at about 15 yards right behind the shoulder as it was broadside ,facing to my left. It twitched a little & turned around & scampered off . No smell then or later on from reports from the renter.

I learned this using too light of a connibear trap it was effectively just leashed and sprayed all night I switched to a 220lb unit and now they're lucky if they don't get the Marie Antoinette treatment.

Yeah, I machine gunned one with my zelos, it started stinking, phew! That was too bad. It was super close and I have a long range scope, so I couldn't get a good shot, I feel kinda bad for the guy
