My feeders been quiet for a good bit now, but two days ago I noticed the local rural cats have been scarce. I assumed it was a skunk due to the smell I encountered last night. Then tonight I pull up and play the waiting game. About 30 minutes into the sit I hear the dog proof trap go off and the ol' song and dance of a raccoon putting up a fight. I waited a good 30 minutes for the thing to tire itself out before breaking out my current Night Vision setup and dispatching it with my .25 Wildcat. As much as I dislike the idea of trapping and shooting its the best way I've found so far to make sure the pests don't become a bigger problem down the line.
My shots weren't perfect in this due to the wind we have going on tonight, but I did my best to compensate.
