Another one down

Nice video and shot. I’m looking to buy a camera.
Is there a lot involved to make a video like yours?

What kind of camera did you use?

Crow

This is a Tactacam 5.0. It seems to be pretty simple to operate. Getting it set up just right on the scope is a little frustrating as witnessed by the cocked reticle in the video. Once on the gun one push of a button starts it recording.
You can get the Tactacam for your phone/iPad and it connects via the wifi in the camera so you can view the videos and download them to your phone.
This was edited on the phone to shorten, zoom in and slow the actual video. Zooming in makes it grainy but the actual video looks better.
Getting the focus and exposure just right makes for a better video. Still learning here so not the best I’ve seen people make with these for sure.

If you mount the camera, turn on the wifi & connect to your phone you should be able to see what the camera is seeing (tap where it says "Tactacam 5.0 connected" on the app). Rotate camera til crosshairs look level. Tighten everything down & you're good to go. I can see in the picture that button on the camera is skewed to the right. Try to keep it parallel to your elevation turret to start off, then use the app. BTW, use the 8x zoom on the CAMERA so you don't have to do it in the editing (mode button, light blue color). It won't be so grainy.

The raw footage was shot with the 8x zoom on the camera through a 32x scope. It actually looked a bit better before going through YouTube. Thanks for the tips on this. I don’t know if a better scope might help also. I’m a total newbie to this so it’s still a learning process here for sure.

No computer needed. It has its own WiFi so you just go in to your settings on the phone/iPad and select the Tactacam WiFi. I’ve read where others have had issues getting it to connect but it seems to work well on my phones and iPads. You can also go through a computer if you want to but it is easier for me just to download the videos to the phone.

It actually is pretty simple once you start playing with it but will take a bit of practice to get some video as good as I’ve seen others get.

I reread the manual and found there is a third mode. For some reason I thought there was just two. I set mine up the third mode for slow mo at 120fps and 3x zoom and will try that. No dummy here is there? Lol. What would be great is if you could film in all three modes at one time and choose which one looks the best. Probably the wave of the future.
