Another new camera for your scope

i just got an email from phonescope about a new device that uses a prism similar to some other vendors. The cost with my phone is a little over $200. In won’t be available until the summer.
It looks like it may be good for some of us.i wouldn’t buy it until I saw some more info.

they also have an adapter were it can work with a GoPro hero phone that would make it similar to the setup that hajimoto and rusbear have but we will need to see if it works as well.

"intenseaty22"Thanks Brian. Was aware. But I don’t have a GP, was planning to use my iPhone
I think it might pay to get one of those telli attachment lenses for the iPhone a see if you can adapt it to work as you will have the same problem of having to use digital zoom to fill the screen
something like this then you just need to figure out how to rig it and what zoom amount works best. The cost isn’t that much and I believe the quality will be much better. There is no need to buy an expensive lens as the cheap standard lens in the phone is the weak link in the system.

"Brian10956"For those of you that are making your own if you are using a camera like a GoPro remember to change the lens to a telescopic the standard wide angle will require a lot of digital zooming which will be of lower resolution.
I didn't know there were lens options for the GoPro. I would love to be able to use it rather than my phone.

I never tried an add-on lens for my gopro, but I changed lenses plenty of times on my hero 4. All you have to do is just unscrew it...
Changing the lens on a hero 3 on the other hand, is way more complicated though.

These were all the issues I ran across when I was trying to use a GP on my gun. That's why I went with the camera option on the prism mount. It took care of all the lens issues and I can still use my scope as a normal scope.

I can't see myself buying a GP 4 and pulling it apart to replace the lens.
With the camera I can zoom in and out and I have a great LCD display to see what I'm filming. GP4 Black doesn't have a screen only the Silver.
If I wasn't left handed I would do the Eagle Vision like Matt Dubber with the Sony digital camera with the pop up view finder and tilt screen.

"Bob_O"My GP5 has a screen....maybe I'll see if there's a lens for that.

I had the GP5 sessions they make an external lens adapter to tele or macro lenes. In fact I still have it. Made the lens area too bulky to be of use.
The adapter fits both the GP5 And the GP5 sessions.
But again wasn't a good option. IMHO.

Bob_O I really think you would like the set up that Matt dubber has. Almost the same as Ted. But Matt's camera has the pop up view finder.
