A main reason for buying the Winchester 1400CS. Dang starlings, robins & cardinals are eating all my mulberries before & can pick'em.

Ditto. I give the robins, cardinals and other native birds a pass. But squirrels, English Sparrows and European Starlings had better watch out.

I agree. Cardinals & robins are pretty intuitive. But starlings seem to be a lot dumber? Or just don't care about what they do versus repercussions? Scads of them around here. Lots of pin oaks in this area, but not too many squirrels? Just rabbits, starlings & some ducks. One coyote I saw in the backyard last year was big!

Starlings seem pretty smart to me. Robins are dumb; they let people get much closer than Starlings do.
The thing about Starlings is that when they're on the ground where they're safe to shoot, they never stop moving.
Not too many squirrels, eh? Because you thinned them down a bit maybe?

Nah, Haven't seen but a couple fox squirrels since we built the house in 2000. And even then it took several years to see any? Strange for a town full of pin oaks? But geez, all the rabbits & starlings!
