Another HW50S .20 "the last one..."

I had told my usual pellet rifle place when they get down to their last special rifle in .20 in HW50S with modified cutaway stock to charge me and send the rifle. They did this week and today it will arrive.

This will be the second rifle in HW50S .20 I recently picked up and posted about a month or two ago.

I will report on it sometime today or tomorrow, but want to reintroduce the HW50S .20 again using the LAST ONE compared to my FIRST ONE.

It's as good as my first one.

Serial Numbers for my HW50S .20's:

1st: USA 2325025 and chronograph for 13.73gr JSB .20 Exact Diablo is an average velocity of 602 fps.

2nd: USA 2329631 and chronograph for Rangemaster Kaiser 1142 at 20 yards is an average velocity of 658fps.

I only use JSB .20s in either 13.73gr or 15.89gr. The latter are called "HEAVIES" in .20, and the former are standard for .20.

The Kaiser pellets I use in my .177 HW98 and Daystate Regal Huntsman in 10.33gr and the D54 .20 uses 15.89gr with my HW80 .20.

I was shooting far right and low at 35 yards after taking the rifle out of the box for immediate testing with JSB Exact 13.73gr and it didn't take any time to sight the rifle (the second one) for THIS pellet instead of the flighty lighter Kaiser pellets; which to me is a waste of time because the HW50 .20 shoots REGULAR JSB EXACT DIABLO 13.73gr EXACTLY on target at 35 yards with a snap and swiftness the FIRST rifle demonstrated.

So now I have duplicate performing .20 HW50S rifles with 13.73gr JSBs.

However, because I became familiar with the First rifle right away I became acquainted with the second rifle IMMEDIATELY with THE PELLET OF MY CHOICE:

.20 JSB Diablo Exact 13.73.

Now we pause because I think most who BUY springers of quality THINK they have to FIND the "right pellet" to make THAT rifle work. Nonsense.

I have the agenda FROM THE BEGINNING to insert THE PELLET OF MY CHOICE and "not" the "rifle's" choice.

A Quality Air Springer will shoot anything accurately is MY MOTTO for HW and all their rifles from HW30 to HW80.

Get a cheaper springer and WASTE your time trying to accurize it with a Pellet Sampler that will send you all over the place to choose.

Not everyone wants to buy an HW98 .20 and I've got one (shooting 13.73 JSB Exacts OR 15.89gr to center of target after readjusting ELEVATION on the HW98.

The HW98 is the FINAL word on break barrel springers.

The D54 .20 by Hector I have is THE LAST WORD on accuracy out to ranges BEYOND an R1 or any HW made except the HW44 PCP (I have THAT too!)

But Hector's rifle cost me $1800.

To me it is not a "but" but rather a statement:

If you WANT the MOST power and accuracy in regular air rifle target or hunting then choose the D54 .20 and use any pellet weight JSB has to offer. Hector's own D54 shoots hand lubed 13.73gr JSBs; MINE shoots 15.89gr.

His or my rifle in D54 is CUSTOMIZED from head to toe to do accuracy and power at THE LONGEST RANGES.

The HW50S .20 to me is THE BEST AFFORDABLE SPRINGER AIR RIFLE IN EXISTENCE today.

And I've got lots of air rifles to COMPARE what this sweet little rifle CAN DO with open factory sights beating EVERY rifle with OPEN sights in my house.

Now I am thinking one of these HW50s in .20 SHALL BE SCOPED using Diana Zero Recoil Mounts and Rings to FIT the scope of MY choice above those lovely open sights on one of them.

I say you all missed out on a fantastic .20 offering when I picked up the LAST one leaving nothing but the simple .177 and .22. Neither of which have the accuracy or IMPACT this rifle has DOWNRANGE in TWENTY CALIBER!

Mine is 2331417. My Beeman 97K really likes the jsb 13.73 My 50s is ok with them, but I've just today shot some H&N 11.42 and they do better. The jsb's are really tight fitting in the leade. I have to take my fingernail to get them down flush. The h&n's seem to be a perfect fit. A slight push with just my finger sits them nice and flush. The jsb measure ~5.07, the h&n measure ~ 4.97, both +/-.

Yes egd my 13.73 JSBs or 15.89s go SNUG in the insertion! Much tighter than the .177 or .22 in the regular HW50.

When these barrels are requested and then made they figure we won't make a "popular" rifle with "this" caliber compared to .177 or .22 BUT "LET"S DO IT RIGHT for the .20 so those who ordered and bought them are given our best. That's HW.

That is NOT Beeman anymore.

The two are on target to date and I switched the newer one to the U notch with Bead post while keeping the old one with the front cog sight and U notch rear.

Thinking about these two rifles I realize trying to put lenses atop is what I've already done for the HW98s and so going down to HW50 and HW35E power the open sights remain the best option in most worlds these kind of rifles are meant for.

Now with the bead front and u notch rear on the newer one I will put a 4X scope or so on one that will not break.

That means Leupold 1.5-5X VarXIII 20mm the kind used on .458 Magnums in Africa.

Since I have two Leus thusly working I could put BOTH to use on each rifle.

Ah!

Decisions and deciding with these two rifles may become a university physics experiment.

No ZR mounts needed with these two scopes and they do mount LOW.

But that means taking out the iron sights!

No way!

So back to the idea of doing this to one only.....!
