Another first PCP Post

Just now getting into airguns for pests around the house and backyard plinking. Researching rifles and air compressors but haven't made the dive yet. Lots of good information on here and many vendor sites online.

I've been debating on going with a new Umarex Notos since they are back in stock or something in the Classifieds, preferably in 22. Challenge is the rules for Classifieds with 10 posts and 10 activity days but I feel like it's a better buy. Outside of Notos and Prod, any opinions on preferred brands? Any brands I should steer clear of? I was tempted at the AGT Vixen ad but is this overkill for a first PCP?

Welcome!🤗
There are manyyyyy brands these days😅
.22 is a great all around caliber.
Just stick around and read some posts about compressors and hoses, tethering, make some.comments asking questions and things like I did... time can and will fly by with all of the knowledge and diving into research that can be done in here🤪🤙

Appreciate it, lots to learn!

For a first compressor I would recommend the GX CS4. I bought one to try it out along side my much larger Tuxing 042. This little CS4 is a real workhorse and very quiet. You can fill inside the house without getting the little wifey upset. ;)

I'll definitely look at this, have it saved on my list. Will get a hand pump to hold me over until I find a compressor after doing my research. Most of these hand pumps look identical and relatively inexpensive.

I have had good luck with the AEA Challengers in smaller calibers, lots of power and very accurate but I would take my Notos over just about any medium or lower priced rifle right now. They really are that good if you want a light handy rifle you can carry in the woods all day and hit what you aim at to about 40yds.
That's what I'ver been reading, everyone is loving the Notos so far.

Although I'm not new to airguns, I'm very new when it comes to PCP guns. On the recommendation of members here I've decided to make the Notos and a decent hand pump my first PCP. Just waiting for payday.

Also, I just noticed PA has them back in stock-

Did you choose a scope to go with the Notos?
