Stumbled across a relatively recent video that I had not seen before. "Test" starts at 7:23 in the video. The guy was literally hammering the table, still holds zero after.

That's why Discovery scopes are so heavy... they make the aluminum too thick. It's not a hammer, it's a rifle scope.
I use Discovery scopes but I wish they were half the weight and didn't look like they were designed by a person who has never hunted or shot a gun because it's illegal in China.
The Chinese way is to copy the master and the Chinese copy everything... so why can't Discovery copy a good looking scope that doesn't weigh two pounds???
They are coming out with a few newer models that are lighter...I may replace my current 29 oz Argos with something in the future, but anything right now that is comparable in features + magnification are generally around the same weight...I'd love a FFP 3-18x50 that weighed no more than 16 oz.
The HS 4-14x44 FFP is 560g, still over 16oz. Anything with a 30mm tube is going to be tough to find that light, but perhaps I know nothing (I actually don't know a whole lot!) and other companies have them. I agree it'd be awesome to have the toughness and durability of the Discovery with less weight, and no compromising on glass =)
