Another Daisy/Sears only rifle!

Besides the Daisy/Sears model 66 golden boy 1894 30-30, I bought another Daisy/Sears rifle off a buddy on one of my Facebook groups for $20. Doesn't sound like much, but after unboxing it, things started to look up. I gave it a Rem-Oil rub down, & cleaned the gold painted receiver with lens cleaner. I had to use a green Scotchbrite pad to clean the bottom of the underlever to make out the stampings on it. They are basic operating instructions. Finally found the Regulation number on the bottom of the barrel shroud near the seam. It is; C304830. According to the Daisy letter code date list I made, the C3 denotes a build date of March 1973. The first year of the 880's 10-year production. Sears dubbed it the 799. The day I unboxed it, last Thursday, I put a couple drops of mac1's Secret Sauce in the oiling points. It took until yesterday afternoon to loosen things up. I can now work the bolt and pump the underlever, but it doesn't cock or hold air. I figured on that for the price and the look of it's initial condition in Eddy's pics. But in good, serviceable condition for 20 bucks. And a first year rifle to boot...at least my third! The barrel is a bit different too. It's tapered smaller toward the front. Like a powder burner, wider toward the breech end. And painted metallic black, which Rustoleum makes. They call it, " Hammered". So that'll match up well. Here's some before and after cleaning pics for your edification;

In this pic, you can more clearly see the barrel shroud's taper;
