Another cricket ll kill

The squirrels and deer never showed up but found a target on the way out. I was hunting my grandparents property today and have orders to shoot a few different nuisance critters on sight. Peekaboo! I ran into the cat food thief and sent a hybrid slug at his head. My grandfather traps them constantly but said the food still gets eaten nightly by more than just the cats. Raccoons will also end up in the traps and are on the list right under groundhogs. Just doing my part to keep him happy so I can keep filling my freezers with deer and squirrel. Headed back in the morning for another long day in the tree. Weather is supposed to be 20-40 and sunny. A little brisk in the morning but should be a good day.

My grandfather has been trapping and killing them along with skunks, groundhogs, fox, and raccoons for over 30 years and they keep coming. Not sure of what all they kill beyond eggs the chickens and peafowl lay. I think the predator population is stronger because we cull from the numbers just like deer and squirrel and other game animals which leaves more resources for the ones that remain. We’ll never outrun their numbers here unless disease or other natural factor knocks them back. The chickens and peacocks have appreciated our efforts as well. The barn cats take care of the rodents and snakes for the most part. We’ll keep fighting
