Another 760 Freebie!

Yup. I must live right, or I'm one of the very few that put any value on these rifles? Anyway, A buddy and fellow Admin on the Facebook Airgun groups was given this one. He knows I love these little rifles, so he gave it to me. Free. Interesting that we're both of German decent and he sent it to me in a Stoeger box?! It's a 760 Powermaster, variant 4, built January 1977. So here then, are a few pics of it...

Serial number shows build date of January 1977;

A couple scrapes on the lower receiver side, but acceptable;

​And here, after a rub-down with Rem-Oil and my old, period-correct 70's Weaver V22-A Dual X mounted;

​This example has some heft to it! It feels heavier than my 760 variant one, 6/70. Not a bad thing though. It should make it steadier? But she looks darn good for being 41 years and one month old!

Thanks! It shoots good too! It seems to like the JSB Exact Express @ 7.87gr a tad more than the H&N sniper light @ 7.5gr. Both are pretty close though Here's a target I shot at 3yds In the man cave. Busted for shooting outside a while back.

Looks like it's in very good shape. Most of those older crosman are pretty rusty and scratched up.
What do you mean "busted for shooting outside"? Is there an ordinance preventing you from shooting an air rifle on your own property?

Yes. No shooting, throwing, slingshots, blowguns, nada outside here in Snowflake Village. And yeah, another freebie I have, a 760-D Pumpmaster, 4/98, looked like it was barrel down in wet junk when a buddy's friend pulled it out of a trash can and gave it to him, who gave it to me. I'll start a thread on it unless I find one I did already? Just posted video resto part 4 yesterday.

I am going to get back to this one soon for some chrono tests with a couple pellets soon. I still think these would be good close-range small game rifles. Or pesting around out buildings and such. I can't wait to get the other two 760's restored! then I'll get some group pics before the 760-D goes to my Marine older brother.
