I took my must powerful rifle to decide if I take it with me in my next deer hunting trip.

After very few shots I confirmed that the confidence it gives is far away from the one I feel with my Vulcan 3 700 mm in.30 Cal.

Is clear that obsolescence took it while it was waiting in the shelf for the next hunt.

It’s not obsolete, you just don’t have confidence in it anymore. I bet if you shot it a while and got reacquainted, it would suit the task. So it’s a preference thing, great to have the luxury of that. Good luck on your deer hunt.

My .357 gives 5 shots that hit at the same place at 45 yards with 132 fpe.

My Vulcan 3 700 mm gives 55 shots that hit at the same place at 100 yards with 120 fpe.

The difference is the barrel, the regulator (Huma) and the 700 cc total air capacity.

Is very unlikely not to feel more confident with the Vulcan.

@Emu, quite the difference between the two. You’re lucky to own both. Maybe give or sell at a bargain rate the .357 to some less fortunate Hunter/Shooter? Your obsolete to you PCP could very well be someone else’s primary.
