It’s surprising how little torque is actually needed on some screws.

That is true of most to all torque wrenches. As a professional aircraft mechanic who has had many of my own torque wrenches, when done using it and before going into the case, they were reset to the just below the minimum setting. Your so called zero. I HATED having to use company torque wrenches as so many were lazy and never reset them.

Always used them for scope mounting
I used one of those and a universal socket to try and have repeatable torque on the Maverick barrel jam nut.

I have two of them. Keep one on work bench and one on shooting bench. I’ll have one set for the stock screw and one for trigger. Can check 30 rifles efficiently. Crow

I still guessatmate by feel of hand ..

If the fasteners slip or movement = too loose if it strips or snaps = well too tight. Almost a 3 bears thing. Too loose too tight or just right.

All jokes aside ot can pay to have a good toque driver ..

Home Depot got a new digital one now that replaced the mechanical one I " use to have". Loned to a buddy and that was the last I seen it .. friends ya know.
