Here's a little tool I made that has saved a lot of frustration. Thanks Augie for the sharing your idea.

No problem! Glad you were able to whip one out. That Inset on the tool to allow it to go over the reg piston tip to first get the lower o ring on then finish off with the top o ring is the ticket.
This tool will also work wonders on the fx valve rod ends on most fx platforms

In some cases you may be able to find a common electrical wire nut that has the right diameter and taper to start an o-ring on your part. They come in different sizes.
