As the title asks: Will an AMP regulator swap into a first gen Wildcat? Will the breather hole for the reg be in the right place to drill out for reg adjustment access?

Absolutely will not work or fit. I have both rifles and I have taken the wildcat apart many times and I have been into the impact as well.

I am curious as to why it does not fit. They use the same air tube (part # 19556). The same tube end cap (part # 19543). The same regulator spacer (part # 19514). The MK1 uses a seat for the regulator (part # 19512) which looks like is part of the regulator body in the MK2. Is it simply that the breather hole is a different place?

Breather hole locations if measure from the rear end of the air tube are will show different measurements, so, yes, different locations.
it best to do what YO! suggests, and that is to install a Huma reg. If not getting the power plenum, you must specify if your WC is pre AMP or post AMP, as the spacer lengths that accompany the Huma reg’s are different by 23mm.

Thanks for the info. The original FX reg in my WC works perfectly so I have no need to replace it with a Huma. I have a Huma in another rifle - they are excellent regulators. I was more interested in the external adjustability of the AMP used with a Dreamline plenum extension. I should really just save up for a WildCat MKIII. Lol
