Well, I've ended up with dad's old Webley Tempest in a .22 after he passed and am looking to start shooting it again. The only thing I know is it was made in England, .22 caliber, and older than I am (51). My biggest questions are:

1) Is there anything special I should do or know before shooting it again?

2) Is there any rhyme or reason in pellet weight & design for this thing or do I start shooting tins to see what it likes the best?

3) Any suggestions as to a favorite place(s) to source .22 pellets?

Appreciate any input & thanks,

well i would try to stay with a light pellet and that would be the RWS Hobby at 11.9 grains
keep the pistol with some sort of protection like Break Free wipe it down whenever you touch the pistol, i have a habit you look at it take and rub it down i use a cloth in an old sour cream container it is just damp with Break Free
the pistol is a plinker so it is not pellet fussy
find a soft case to store it even if i has the factory box
warm and dry is the best environment to store
Pryamyd Air has buy 3 tins get on free
