Amcrest is mostly known for their video surveillance cameras. I've had experience with their other products and have always been impressed, especially with their support services. This new product came to me well packaged. Inside the box I was pleased to find the scope, tripod and phone adapter all fit into a heavy cloth zippered carrying case with an adjustable strap.
The body of the scope has a weatherproof flat dark grey finish, similar in appearance to a synthetic gun stock. It should hold up very well for field use. The eyepiece extends from the top and has a large threaded cap. The 60 mm objective has a slip on cap for protection, and a built-in retractable sunshade. It is easily adjustable from 20-60 power via the ring below the eyepiece. The wheel has a firm positive feel which is not likely to be changed accidentally. Focus is via a knob in from of the ocular lens assemble, and turns effortlessly. I found the sight picture from the scope clear and sharp at all magnifications.
It attaches easily to the included metal tripod via a standard 1/4-20 thread female fitting. Thus it can be used on any other tripod should you wish. It is well made, extends from 6-12 inches, is adjustable on each axis, and also has a spirit level.
Included also is a cell phone camera attachment which allows for still or video through the scope. It's adjustable so it should accommodate most any camera size. I tried it with my two LG phones and it worked well, though it does need to be aligned properly and the zoom set appropriately. All in all it seems like a good value, got it on Amazon for $90. I'm looking forward to some field use and taking it to EBR next year.
