I read on here posts about how to figure kinetic energy , foot pounds and such . How to use a formula to calculate speed and bullet drop . The various rare earth elements used to coat scope lenses . Wind devices that cost as much as my first old junker truck and guys who actually know how to work them !! . Turbo charged front rifle rests , scope rings machined out of UFO crash debris ,chrome plated extra double throwdown pellets, and such .
There are guys on this forum who no kidding can machine an entire rifle outta a block of aluminum and make it frigging work !!!!!!! I do good to remember where I parked at the Walmart and not poop on myself . And have gotten backed out of the driveway going to shoot on several occasions and left my gun/pellets sitting in my shop . So bear in mind you guys who still got good sense ,that the mildly retarded among you ( me included )who are drooling and playing with their own boogers need your help ....DONT LET US DOWN !!! WE ARE COUNTING ON YALL

More likely is that some people are over-complicating what should be a simple and fun hobby. Don't let these nerds ruin your fun!

There is really no need to get involved working out complex algorithms for backyard plinking or worrying about the differences between different nasa inspired shooting rests. There is a small handful of people that compete at the highest levels and they are rarely the ones talking about that stuff...

Some people use too many complex-sounding words for simple things. Many of them fold under questioning!

Don't worry about it Joe. Sometimes I get wrapped up in the minutia of FT or BR and have to remind myself that as competitive as I may be it's ultimately just for fun.

Also remember we are all top shots in our own backyards. Formal competition is for those who feel the need to see how well they do against others(points at myself).

Like I said, make sure it's always fun and don't get wrapped up in the BS of online oneupmanship.

Joe you are not the only one, I often park my car and when I leave the store have no idea where I left it, lol Sometimes I wish I could forget where I left my wife, but that never seems to be a problem! Just kidding guys, I have a wonderful wife who puts up with a lot of crap from me without complaining, I was lucky and got one of the good ones, But Joe we all have certain talents, I am sure you have some yourself, it does not make you any more stupid than someone else, just different, and we need different among us or life would be pretty boring, Neil.

"JoeWayneRhea"But I do have to say I am pretty proud i was able to insert the word " Booger" into an airgun discussion !!! Hope I'll get to meet some of the guys on the forum in person at the Texas show this weekend .

I'm not sure that show is ready for you JWR. ;) Maybe your best thread ever Joe. Its just ahead of the "1/2 inch is now the new 50 yard standard?".

"Samuel"This is my favourite post ever, I think.

It's what you want it to be - and it can be as complex or as simple as you like. Therein lies it's fun, I'd say!
Well said Samuel. I have had the most fun learning about this hobby. There are sooooo many areas that you can focus on. It's also a heck of a lot of fun learning from everyone. Joe, I have been saving the ballistic stuff for later but interesting non the less.

Now, how to I get this booger off my screen!
Doc

"JoeWayneRhea"Thanks guys :) I'm sure I could learn more about the physics of what's going on with an airgun but my brains full of useless trivia like who was the lead singer of the 80s band the Tubes( Fee Waybill) . I am truly enjoying learning about the guns and what makes them tick , and hoping somewhere along the line become a good springer shooter in BR .
Gawd, they were sooooo good. I got to see them twice in a little club in Cotati California. Some of the most fun of my entire life. They were beyond entertaining! And great to dance to.
