Am I the only person who has .........

Long ago when I was shooting my red rider, I had a butter tub full of BB's that was almost full. I had just out shot my younger brother and he got mad and knocked it out of my hand. We were on grass and I had just spent all my sparrow bounty money to get several large packs. I can't remember if it was anger or tears first but it was a close race. I was like 9 and he was about 7.

I FEEL your pain! I'm tempted to chide JSB to give us screw-on lids. But the fact remains, if you drop a tin, whether it dumps the pellets or holds them inside, one must inspect every pellet for damage anyway. In that case, little is gained by a screw-on lid. I'll never admit to how many tins I've dropped, or how many pellets I've had to straighten or throw away. But I've learned the hard way to handle pellet tins as if they were filled with Nitro. HA HA.

Live and learn.

I tossed several while digging through the rocks and several more after I washed them.

There are two types of XXXXXXX (fill in the blank), those who have dropped pellets and those who are going to drop pellets.
Shoot airguns long enough and you WILL drop a tin.

That's why I buy the plastic capped test tubes on that auction site (look up BP charge tubes) and transfer them...
Smaller amount to deal with and I find I don't need a full tin unless I'm at the bench and they work especially well in the field, just put a couple tubes in your pocket and it's more low profile. And it keeps the wind blown dust off the pellets at the bench too, just spill a couple out as you need them.

I though I was the only one that collected sparrow bounty when I was a kid about sixty year ago.

Just a FYI to all..... DON'T pick up pellets from the dirt and use them!!! A few years back, i was in a Field Target match, and one of the competitors spilled them in the dirt, he had no others. Picked them up, blew off the dust and dirt, and proceeded to use them, and proceeded to wipe out a nail driving Theoben barrel to the point where it was useless. If recovered pellets have to be used, they should be washed thoroughly and relubed if desired before attempting to shoot them again.

I mostly buy H&N and they come with screw on lids but I have many tins with big ol dents in them from drops i have some full auto bb machine guns that eat up bbs and have dropped those 6000 bb bottles with major spillage so i learn to keep a magnet in my shooting bench just for that reason have you ever tried to pick up 6000 little bbs with out a magnet %$&# &#$@ %#$#.
