Most bullet casters use alox bullet lube which is a mix of alox (a particular type of grease made by Alox Corporation) and beeswax. Be sure not to get any residue in the mold cavities or you will have problems. Once the mold is hot use a pin and put a very small amount under the sprue plate pivot, a very small amount on any alignment pins, and just for good measure a bit on the handle hinges. The heat will melt the wax and it will flow to where it is needed.
Proper temp of alloy (or pure lead) and the mold itself is critical to not getting "folds" or frosted bullets which is what happens if t's too cold or hot. What's the right temp you ask... when the bullets come out like you want them, it's a balancing act.
Aluminum molds are the easiest to use, and they are pretty tough so you should be able to smack the handle hinge pin to get them to fall out of the mold. The problem with light bullets is there is not enough mass for them to want to fall out of the molds. Once they get "seasoned" things get easier. Good luck, have fun and as mentioned... be SAFE. Wear safety glasses!!!
