Almost got a magic group this morning!

It was dead calm early this morning and I tried shooting my Theoben .20 cal at 130 yards. I came really close to duplicating my lifetime best group, but one drifted right (I gotta blame the wind lol). This is a dream rifle and I’m so lucky to own it. However as soon as there’s any kind of wind at all it moves the little 13.73 pellets all over the place. The leaves were barely moving and the pellets would drift way out of the group. I finally quit and tried 12 shots at a 100 yard steel disk, missing three because of the slight breeze. We are so blessed to have airguns that can do this. Thanks for looking at my groups!

Thanks guys! Tommy I tried the heavies and the Theoben didn’t like them, AZ has the Theoben shooting at 860 and it shoots so perfect with the light pellets that I can’t bring myself to touch it lol! Cornpone, I was very surprised to see how the pellets blow up at that distance, but they really are so soft you can pinch the skirt shut with little effort. AZ is almost done with my custom .20 that he’s turned my .30 Crown into. He’s setting it up for the heavies. I’m really excited about it and I’ll be sure to post pictures and groups. It’s going to be extremely quiet too, I requested the quietest shroud he could do!

Thanks Centercut! I wish I could do it consistently. I’m looking forward to getting the 50 yard targets and trying the one shot at each target, and I’ll be ready to be frustrated lol! That one shot at each target really tells a lot. Groups are easier for me because it’s the same aim point and all I do is work the bolt and since the gun is on bags it’s just a little adjustment and I’m on the aim point again. And the scope is set to shoot lower than the aim point so the group doesn’t obliterate the aim point. I do like the idea of the aim point being exactly where the pellet hits though.

Thanks Mike, it was a rifle that AZ sold me, it has his shroud and is really quiet. And it has the Anschutz barrel. One reason I can do groups like this is the scope. My eyes suck and I need good glass, the scope is the Valdada Terminator, it’s 12-55X and is incredible. I can literally put the crosshairs in a pellet hole at 100 yards. It cost a lot, but it makes a shooting session so perfect.
