How do you get lead out of your draws bucket 

I have 40 pounds but I know there must be 25 or 30 of lead. How do you guys do it or you just scrap it and buy more.

You could melt all the dross. Add a bunch of wax to render the lead from the oxides and then hit it with saw dust at the end to clean out the oxide. Do it outside, it will be a smoking mess.

I’ve seen videos of people doing it on YouTube. That’s my only point of reference. I was reminded of this by the description in @Loren’s post, but I’m not sure if you will get a lot of lead from lead dross. Hope you can find a video that helps you.

I have always been told dross will produce much higher levels of fumes and best to leave it for recyclers, however in this vid the guy uses lite salt, and the explanation makes sense with the potassium. I might try it this winter when i ecru enough, but I usually just take mine to a recycle facility.

Truly I think you will burn up more dollars in fuel then you will recover in dollars in lead.

I tried the wax out doors full ventilation safety 

Equipment .the wax stirred in worked great it separated the lead I had 40 pounds ended up with 33 pounds lead then smelted with sawdust twice excellent . Thank you for all great info appreciated
