All The Inside Scoop On The Benjamin Marauder Semi Auto!!!

Here's the first of a three-part series on the new Semi Auto Marauder. I went to the Crosman plant and met with the guys leading the project - Phillip Guadalupe and John Solpietro. The result is a lot of detail on this exciting new model - in fact, about 3,500 words of it in total. Here's some key takeaways...

The new design works very well. I emptied a 10-round magazine in just 2.1 seconds

The Semi Auto shoots at a faster FPS than regular bolt-action Marauders and accuracy is the same. I'm guessing the Street Price will be $699.99.

Although the Semi Auto looks like the regular Gen 2 Marauder, inside it's very different. There's a TON of new parts.

It looks like they're on course to ship this baby in June 2020.

It's nice they are making a semi marauder. I owned the 1st Gen mrod back in 2010. So I have no reason or interest to pay another $700 just for semi auto. But if I haven't own a mrod, i'd sure pick the semi auto version over the the bolt action one for quicker follow up shots.

This definitely has my interest! I've owned two semi-auto air rifles and neither one was very refined, nor were they accurate. I hope Crosman pulls it all together and has a winner here!

Did I miss any reference to calibers available? Regulated? Velocity numbers? When will actual specs be released?

As to a name, the Crosman guys call it "SAM" themselves, internally. I think that will become the popular name.

It's in .22 caliber only at this point. Specs can be found at Crosman.com

How does it compare noise wise to a regular marauder?

Removable mag hopefully, reloading the SK19/Huben gets annoying after awhile.

Here's Part Two of the story...

There's details of the removable magazine - slightly different to the current version - and the action. It's operated by using hammer bounce and blowback. As you can see, I emptied a 10-shot magazine in 2.1 seconds and the FPS was constant. Very good!

The shroud is the same as a bolt-action Marauder. No change to the report, so far as I could tell.

One note that I gleaned is that the magazine while looks like the normal marauder it is not, They had to modify it so that it can keep up with the semi auto. I talked to Mark when we were at the Helicopter for heroes event I sure hope they come out with a .25 version.
