Hey 3Crow....

The shroud goes to the length of the barrel just shy of the threads which will allow you to thread right on to the barrel and shoulder on the shroud. so no cutting needed unless you shorten the barrel. However, you will need something to center the barrel in the shroud on that end if you are not using the factory moderator. I do agree the DFLs are the best in the industry!
John Solpietro is the designer and first competitor to use one of only 2.5 current prototypes made. Read this thread:

I love my .25 Mrod Gen 2, so this does look interesting!

Glad to see it has a Pic rail on top. Larger magazine is also good. Would be nice to have one on the forearm too. Wouldn't it be nice to have a convertible lower buttstock? Hunter to bagrider...
It seems like the design is not a completely done deal and Benjamin is following the threads on the forums for input.

The stock has an built in M-Loc rail that is flush mounted. That way it is smooth for off-hand or bag shooting with the ability to add a pic rail if desired.

We try and stop in on the forums but with work and family life it can be hard to find the time.

The design shown is probably 90% final. There are a few things to update/tweak.

good news that the barrel is threaded and that even the shroud can be removed and the factory device as well. So, is the factory device a moderator?

I am noticing no stupid barrel band. Hooray!!!!! This means the barrel is rigid and self supporting?

I am sure a thriving aftermarket will develop for this rifle.

With such a huge plenum power should be available to send 34gr JSBs supersonic.

My current M-Rod sends the GTOs supersonic ;). And they are very accurate inside 25 yards where they begin transitioning. In fact, inside 25 yards, they are one hole. Anyways, with the large plenum there is bound to be plenty of headroom to push power way up if the valve and ports can handle it. And that will be needed for .30 caliber.
