All dressed up and no where to go!

Spent the past few months putting together some custom Field Target rifles for the 2022 season only to get notice that my local club has shut down! Had a great end of the season run winning 2 different state championships in the hunter piston class with an R9 in a custom Paul Bishop stock as well as my personal best score. I thought I would try some other custom stocks and actions and see how they would work out. Now the next closest matches are about 2 hours away with the return home trip usually being considerably longer.

Here is my UK custom stock with an AA Pro Sport stock, I made my own rosewood and brass pistol grip cap to it.

Next up is an LP TAC2 stock for my HW97, I made a simpler painted grip cap for it for a personal touch. I tuned the gun with a 25mm piston, Vortek spring and seal kit along with other enhancements.

Last up is my Beeman R9 in a Paul Bishop stock that I used for the state matches. Glided piston, Macarri full power kit, etc.

Bummer about the club. Not sure where you are located, but at least the closest club is 2 hours away. I was looking at a hard 4 hours for the closest club. Tried starting one up, but couldn't get much interest going. Fortunately I moved for job and only 2 hours away and excited about that.

Really nice looking rifles. Hope you can keep finding a place to use them.

Take Care.

Hard to say really which is most accurate unless there's a bit of wind then the R9 which is .20cal and uses a pellet that's about 1 1/2 times the weight of the .177. They are all capable of 55 yard (max FT distance) groups like the ones below and better.

These are all shot outdoors with some breeze but not necessarily "windy". The circles are about 1 1/2'' which is right around the kill zone at 55 yards in a match.

Of all of the Beeman R series the R9 was last I added to my collection. I went from none to 3 in a few months, I also have a couple of R11's and an R10.

I remember when those R1 Tyrolean’s came out for a brief period of time. Late 80’s if I recall. There was an airgun distributor out of the upper peninsula in Michigan. Forgot the name. We were talking about those R1 Tyrolean’s at our Thursday night league. Someone brought in their just out catalog. They featured the R1 Tyrolean’s and had them in all 3 calibers .177, .20 and .22. They were on a special buy for around $259. Should of could of would of if I wasn’t a lefty.

R1 Tyrolean's are extremely rare, according to the Blue Book of Airguns less than 25 were produced. The Tyrolean stock option virtually doubled the price of the standard R1! An old price sheet from around 1985 showed the base R1 was $349.50, the Tyrolean upgrade was another $300+. One of mine is .177 and is fully engraved the other is .20, both wear Blue Ribbon 68R 4-12x40 scopes.
