just ordered a .177 Akela from Pyramid Air, would of got a .22 but have the Cayden in .22 already.. I need a .177 as I got rid of my .177 springers and have a ton of .177 pellets. Cant wait to play with it.
I have an Akela in .177. I had to clip the hammer spring because it was way too strong for the .177. My Cayden is also .22 and it's shot string is as flat as some of my regulated air rifles, but the Akela shot string was like a cliff! I finally installed a Huma Regulator and it's really nice now! Good luck with yours and enjoy!
i love mine in .22, its a close call on which is better the cayden or akela .. oh and btw it has this little twisty thing on the side, id try that before getting the wire cutters out lol .. actually one thing that does need to be adressed on all of them is getting the valve return spring ends ground flat and polished, that can cause an issue ..
The Akela .177 was my first PCP. Bought it from A of A. I really like it and especially it's accuracy and resemblance to the FX Wildcat styling, at 1/3 the cost. I ust recently put a PARD DS3 on it for day/night use. Still sorting it out. Also bought a Huma Regulator for it, but have not yet installed it. Buck Rail makes some useful accessories for it if you are interested. Sub12 Airgunners has some useful videos for maintenance. One feature I have found very useful is the 4-click power wheel. I dial it down for using light weight "green" pellet in the back yard and dial it up for heavy pellets and slugs for hunting in the field. Very simple and effective power control. Welcome to the club.
