What is this brass insert for? And/or what thread is it?

It's for adding a picatinny rail (bipod or flash lite) not sure of the thread size.

Texasplinker, I sent you a PM, also check with (Airgun Revisions) he should be able to tell you the size of the bolt for the picatinny rail

I just verified it is an M6x1.0mm. Conveniently, the parts listing just calls it a "Piccatinny nut" without specifying the size. The supplied screw is a black oxide, 10mm, socket head cap.
