**Airgun Snowflakes**

I am curious why some users here on AGN feel entitled to use the sociopathic passive/aggressive approach of winning an argument over airgun opinions by simply calling someone a *snowflake*, essentially degrading someone's character and reputation through the profiling of dumping them into a undesirable group.

And before anyone calls me a *snowflake* for bringing up this topic I will tell you that I am married to a sociopathic narcissist for over 10 years so I am well aware of every tactic those who can't get past their own damn pride and egos use. You can't sway me with bs and I'll do the only thing that works against you - call you out and embarrass you in public.

That was pretty funny 😆 Being married is great, isn't it? 👍

To answer your first question - It's the internet and people have keyboard courage.

I remember back in the early 90's the majority of people online were very cool, smart and fun to interact with.

I think it was because back in the day only the curious, inquisitive, intelligent people made the effort to spend 3k on this new thingy called a computer.

Fast forward to today and every ding-dong with a "smart" phone has access to the net. Most people don't know how to use the internet and never will.

Good one Matt, the picture is worth a thousand words. Smartphone is the worst thing that happened to the human race.

We have all kinds of people from all over the world here on AGN. It's easy to misinterpret the written word. Just as easy to generalize or toss people into a group whether they belong or not.

I choose not to worry bout it much but the very first time someone is plainly downright rude I put them in the invisible member group so I don't have to put up with them again. Only two there in the two years I have been here cuz I have pretty thick skin and it does not happen all that often. This werqs very well and I have not seen nor heard from either of them since.

I gave my wife a one way plane ticket back to where she came from. Kept the kids though. A very hard but one of the best decisions I ever made. Girls are still thanking me 30 years later.

I am not sure that AGN is any worse than other forums I have been on. In fact, I dropped out of most firearms forums years ago as everything on them seemed to devolve into ridiculous name calling and extreme politics. I have never understood why some people seem to believe that everyone must agree with them, and that if there are people who don’t, they must be “snowflakes”, “idiots”, etc.

Personally, I am quite capable on occasion of not even agreeing with myself, so its futile for me to call someone names because they have a different opinion. Some of my best friends have quite different political and other opinions than mine. What we share is more important to me than the differences, and at a fundamental level, we share a respect for each other and for people in general. We differ on issues, and opinions on some things, and agree on many others.

Here on AGN, I find it most productive to focus on our shared love of airguns and airgunning. I have been helped by a significant number of people on many issues as I took my airgun journey. I didn’t ask what their politics were, what were there opinions on every little thing, etc. What was important was that they were generous with their time and advice, for someone they had never met and probably will never meet.

Hell, some of them don’t even like FX 😳......

Now, I will confess that I have been trained to tolerate the extremely different opinions of people who drive me crazy. After all, I have been married TO THE SAME WOMAN for over 40 years! Trust me, no snowflake can survive that 😂

I guess everyone likes to label people. The poster labeled their own spouse a "sociopathic narcissist". Generally only hypersensitive people are offended by labels. If you ignore the label it has no desired effect. When you get upset like this poster you validate its success. This is about a 2000 year old tactic some still don't get. Sticks and stones......

Sean. I see you are from the same embarrassingly weak liberal land of the snowflakes (CT) that I'm from.
