Airgun Royal / Taipan

Nice job spotting this. I was about to argue that Airgun Royal looks like a completely different company until I saw the tab on the link you provided which says: About US - Taipan Airguns. Looks like a lot more than just the name and cocking lever has changed such as new magazines and barrel swapping. I'm not sure if I like the chamber load indicator. The safety location is different and there is no mention of the anti-double load cocking feature and 20 MOA rail. I sure as hell hope the trigger mechanism is the same as the Veteran and that they use the CZ barrels on the .22 cal like on the Veteran. The CZ barrels are awesome.

I'm curious as to the reason for the name change. Is don't see the Veteran listed on the site under their rifles heading, just the Thunder. Is still going to be available? Anyone have some insight?

even in the description , the taipan name is mentioned , but , i see a different logo with no listing of taipan as a separate gun. to me it appears as one company making two different "brand" guns. anyway , safety is different , not sure i like that. however , if the same quality and smooth operation are acheiveable with this gun as the taipan veteran , it will make big headway into the bullpup market.

man's world has a quick youtube video on this gun , apparantly it is a new company . looks like some guys from AGT and / or taipan formed their own group and this is their first gun offering.

So we can only really speculate on whether they are the same or different companies, however I don't think this is a splinter group I think this is probably an attempt to make a new brand for the same company. Why?

Well a couple things. First off, look at their websites:
http://taipan-airguns.com/
http://royal-airguns.com/

Identical templates, just a few changes in things like background color.

Second, if you go to "dealers" and scroll down to the contact information at the bottom, email addresses are different, however the contact phone number is the same. (420 777 836 378) So whoever is answering the phone for these companies is the same.

Third, if you scroll down through their "dealer list" most of the dealer list is identical, including both brands citing Utah Airguns. So if you want answers, I'm guessing UA has them if anyone does.

Just my 2c. :)

The advert on the site, http://royal-airguns.com/en/katalog-detail/4/, speaks of the trigger, 20 MOA rail and anti-double load. The chamber load or cocked indicator could be useful to me. This gun has my attention for certain!

*After watching a video, trigger doesn't look to be the same as the Veteran. It resembles the Cricket trigger a bit.

I e-mailed taipan this Monday, and they replied to me that they have nothing to do with airgun-royal. The only thing in comon between the two, is that they had the same sales person as taipan.
