Airgun Optics Plus and Charlie Sexton

I purchased a discovery scope from this place back in November. It was horribly defective - the elevation and windage turrets were switched, and the focus wheel would not even turn.

I contacted Charlie through email, and returned the scope, and have heard absolutely nothing since. The one email he responded to was "ok i will check" and then just absolutely nothing.

I tried calling his mobile number in the email, and got "number is not available and the mailbox is full" (kind of weird that the mailbox is full if the number isn't on).

Anyone know what's going on? Should I be concerned or patient?

Charlie @ airgun optics plus is a good man, he has discovery to deal with in china . I have a discovery scope in warranty limbo with them as well, Charlie will let you know when he knows, or when he ships the replacement to you. I have got replies to my emails from him, advising me of what to do for warranty returns with discovery, granted it was not the same day but he did respond. I would send him an email and ask him what the status is with your order, he may not know what discovery has determined to do. replace, repair, or refund. Then the hard part, wait for a response. I feel Charlie and airgun optics plus will do what he can to help you. So when did you send the scope back? how long has it been ? these warranty returns can be time consuming and frustrating. Hang in there ! I'm sure that it will get sorted out.

The Discovery brand may not be as good quality as the older models.

The 3 year warranty on most of that brands scopes and the prices compared to similar scopes in their class keeps me away from buying the brand.

If he is out if stock then there would be nothing to offer for warranty exchange until his next shipment arrives from China.

Same situation like Arken when they sell out and customers return the bad ones having no choice but to wait until the next shipment arrives.

They are not like big time names such as Vortex and Athlon who likely have thousands of replacements available in stock for quick exchange.

Proof is when you see them selling for cheap at DVOR there's the over flow which is good news more scopes are lasting longer than they anticipated. Or not selling as expected at their retailers.

Problem I see is the small time operators like Arken and Optics Plus have no excuse not to check each and every single scope before sending them out for sale in fact their resellers dealers should also check them before the sale too since they get paid a good profit for reselling them.
