The state of PA has approved hunting small game with air guns but only with .177 and .22 cal. So before the final vote in March all you .25 cal. fans write to PA Game Commision let them know why they should include .25 cal. thanks
You need to move to Maryland. Small game can be hunted with air guns and the State just approved deer and bear hunting with big bore guns of .40 cal. and muzzle energy of 400 ft. lbs. and up!
Why would they limit the calibers like that? If anything, 25 cal makes more sense that a 177 for humane hunting. Any hunter knows that there is no such thing as too much power for hunting but there is absolutely such thing as too little.
I own a .25 Marauder and a .30 FX Boss, which have been waiting for PA hunting reg's to catch up with the rest of the country. And now someone in the PA Game Commission decides anything over .22 caliber is too big for small game? Really??? Sounds like a decision based upon ignorance or just plain indifference.
This is like saying I can shoot a deer with a 17 Remington (any centerfire is legal in PA) but can't shoot one with a 375 H&H because it's too big. I mean dead is dead correct? And don't we as hunters and governor's of hunters want to kill our target animals as dead as possible as quickly as possible? Complete and total ignorance. If you can't tell yes I own a 25 cal.
