Airgun Depot Mystery Box Opinions

I have to say I while not taking part in the purchase, have been watching this thread daily. It is like Christmas morning, watching the packages opened and I am really happy for the participants. It is also a great way to see exactly what isn’t selling. Other than the fact they are giving up on keeping the high end RAW rifles on the shelf there has been no surprises on that front.

I finally was able to go to the ups store and am pretty happy

I look at it this way. It’s just like something that you saw on a great sale that you would have never bought otherwise except for the sale. It wasn’t a good deal because you are out the money and have something you wouldn’t have bought. Pretty much what these boxes are. Even if the “value “ is 400-500 any of the items you would never buy for yourself are pointless. Very possible you could spend 200 and get a box worth more $$ of pointless items. These things are just silly to me.

It didn't stop you from coming here and posting how you didn't care and that they were a waste twice. So for being silly you sure paid a lot of attention to this promo! And many of us, if not most of us, are laughing out loud! Please stay on the bench again next year.

Will do as I like to keep my money for things I really want. Hope you got a treasure chest and I could give AF less what you or anyone here laughs at or thinks of me…

No one cares what you think

That's a valid way of looking at it. And you've still got $200 to spend on what you want because you didn't buy one. So that's cool. But if people are happy with what they got, or even if they just thought the excitement was worth the $200, that's cool too.

I can't figure out why anyone would sh*t on the people that participated. It's not like they were duped. If you think it was a dumb decision to participate, then why not just not particpate and let those that enjoy it have some fun?

As I said before - I'll participate next year (if I can get in on time). It's not even about winning an "epic" package. Call it stuff you'd never buy (probably true) but it might also be stuff you never would have thought to try that you end up loving. I'll reiterate, there are so many other ways that we (the general "we") waste our money, this is hardly cause for concern. I'd love to have a package of, ummm, goats, land on my doorstep such that I am *forced* to try out products I might not have otherwise explored. (And recipients, this is an excellent time to post the ultra-unbiased review on YT...). At the end of the day, the only "losers" are those that expected to win something great, but didn't. I think anyone that entered with their eyes wide open probably enjoyed the experience.

If you don't care what people think of you, why do you think we'd value your opinion, or why do you care to share your opinion. You're deeply conflicted. Therapy might be something worth looking into.

I second this. In the end, it all comes down to disposable income and entertainment. Some people go to casinos, some people go to every movie in the theaters, some people purchase every internet subscription movie service and watch all those. I know I've easily spent over $200 taking a few friends to dinner, and I dont consider that a waste, but I also didn't get anything tangible in return. This is just another method of entertainment. An outsider here could easily say the same thing for buying pellets/ammo. There's really no need to judge someone else on what they like.

I got the Beeman P3, and quite honestly, I would've NEVER bought it. It ended up being quite a fun little pistol, with an actual decent amount of power.

Overall, I think Airguns Depot did a great job this year.

Title of the thread is asking for opinions. Guess the OP should have specified only positive ones 🤷‍♂️
